Day 9 Blog

Read your classmates' blogs about the Oprah Show clip and the Crime Stoppers presentation. Perhaps comment back to a classmate.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter found in the brain that is needed for normal functioning of the central nervous system. Speed is a drug that can be prescribed or can be found as a street drug, otherwise known as crystal meth. Its causes arousal in the brain and central nervous system. "Playing video games doubles the amount of dopamine in the brain which is equivalent to a dose of speed". What do you think about that quote? Believe it or not?

Day 8 Blog

I have considered all of your input to our rubric for blogging. You will find a copy of it posted through the ComFun Wiki space. Click on the left sidebar of this blog page, click on the Com Fun 9 Docs page that is holding our word documents from this class. From now on, your blogs will be marked as a 4 - strong, 3 - proficient, 2 - developing, 1 - beginner, 0 non-existent. Thank you for your input.

First, make some comments about the Crime Stoppers presentation you saw in the theatre on Friday. How can you apply some of the information that was presented to your every day life?

Today you are going to watch a 10 minute clip from an Oprah show. The individual speaking brings motivation and spirit to his audience. After watching, comment (keeping in mind the new rubric) on the speaker's main motivating points.

Day 6 Blog

Today you are required to go back through the Blog archive and read other classmates' blog posts. We are going to be developing a rubric for the different level of bloggers. There will be four categories of bloggers; beginning, developing, proficient, and strong. I want you to find examples of blog entries from either of the two classes that might be good examples of each of these categories. Ask yourself what criteria is making the blog entry fall into a particular category. What do you think should be considered when marking a blog entry? Your input now, will help develop a rubric for this class.

Let me know how commercials of this nature make you feel.
