it is wrong to hack computers and can be very dangerouse to the hacking victims saftey. Hackers are everywhere and are trying right now to steal information from someone, but in Kevin's case he can hack legaly, but most hack to steal information or data from their victims. Hacking is wrong!!!!
I think hacking is one of the stupidest and most pointless thing you can do. I think it's pretty sad that people will go low enough to pretend to be some one they aren't just to get into their private info. In my opinion there are probably ways to stop it but the computer sysems like Norton and all the other systems just want to make more money.
I think what Kevin did was bad but also good in away. It was bad because peolpe shouldn't hack into other peoples stuff, or big companies. It was good because now Kevin can help people, because he get paid to go in and try and finf ways of hacking in. He is doing this igeally, so he is doing a good think. I think so anyways.

I think that when people hack they feel like they are sneeky and feel like they are powerful because of what they do. Hacking I think is an addiction and it is hard for a person to stop doing it. After Kevin Mitnick was released they asked him to help them find hackers and stop them, and I think it is a good thing they did that because it helped Kevin to realise that he shouldn't have been doing that.
When it comes to hacking I believe that lots of people are completely unaware of it. Sure people know that it's possible, but they don't know to what extent or that it could happen to them. Or they do and choose to ignore it. I think that it's scary really to know that someone could get into your computer and basically find out anything about you. It would be nice to have it stopped, but right now thats not really possible. Too many people are getting too good at hacking. I think that what Kevin chose to do with the rest of his life though is a big help to many people. He used to be a big time hacker so he knows if you could be hacked into and where you need more security. I think it's hard for people to go from being a criminal to starting a new life, but he's doing a great job and doing good for others too.
Actually, a person who hacks into bank accounts and cracks passwords is a cracker, not a hacker. Hackers are like crackers, but they break into programs and mess around with the codes of the program, but they do that with open source systems like Linux. Crackers are not good and should be stopped, but a lot of good ones are hard to find because they probably know of ways to hide their IP addresses. They can do a lot of damage to sytems if they upload any viruses and can empty peoples banks the person does online banking. Though I think the ones who crack passwords and stuff just for fun arne't doing any real harm because they just break into the system, look around for a bit, and then leave. When they start doing harmful stuff, thats when they need to be stopped.
Well hacking is bad, it seems today that nowhere is safe. Why do they do it? I say ADDICTION. They start and cannot stop. I think they are only hurting themselves over it, also they are doing things that are illegal and can get them in serious trouble. It just seems nothing is safe to have or use on the computer, whatever u say or do can be read by others. The internet is not so safe and even if you have a system to help the hackers stay out they might be able to get through it. Mabey they should just band computers i mean we have lived without them. If we need information we can just go to a book in the library or other resources. If hacking gets out of hand and there are so many . They might band computers.
I agree with Darren's comment. Where if you sell what you downloaded it should be a crime, but if you download it yourself and not sell it, it should be legall.
I think that hacking is wrong and shouldn't be tolerated. If you hack into a major company like motorolla, it can put them out of buisness. Or cause lots of damage. I think you should use the computer right or don't use it at all.
i think that hacking is not legal but not illegal. it shouldn't be legal because people could steelstuff off your computer and give you virus's and crash your computer but it shouldn't be illegal because some people can help you by hacking in to your computer. it also shouldn't illegal because if you really think about it when teachers do broadcasts over all the computers that could be classed as hacking because you are taking control of someone elses computer and when teachers can see what you are doing on your computer from there computer that is like overlooking our compters wich is what some hackers do like i no that my computer at home has people hacking in to it and just looking at what im doing.
I think that the hacking vidio was very interesting because I never knew about Kevin Mitnick or how he was able to change his hacking skills around. I think hacking into a computer is not only wrong but useless if you are someone that just goes on it to look at personal information for fun. Using the internet in unacceptable ways is not only doing stuff like getting private information from big companies but also from people in the school.
My veiws on hacking aren't so its ilegal more you should know how to use the computer to reverse the things the hackers do or have better secerity systems. Now my veiws on internet and technology in unacceptable ways uhh you shouldn't, hackers are hackers they think what they want to think and do i don't think its right but there all different people so they might have there own views on it themselves. Most people think hackers shouldn't do what they are doing i think they should use there skills for good reason.
I think that hacking computer systems is bad but Sometimes it could be good to hack the system to help others. When Kevin Mitinick stole information from those companies, he was doing it for fun and using it for personal gain. When he was hacking in peoples computers he was doing it for both personal gain (money)and fun .
I think that he was stealing items and costing companies money. I think that all hackers should be put in jail.

when you are hacking other people's websites you are breaking the law and you are also violating other people's privacy. If you use a computer in an unacceptable way you aren't using technology correctly because they are for the use of learning and not for the use of hacking.
I think that Kevin did not do anything wrong because he did not do anything wiht the information that he took. I think that what he does for a living is good because he helps people protect there computers so they doget hacked

Hacking is just a version of stealing. It should be treated the same way as a case of shoplifting should be treated. It doesn't matter if you used it for bad things or not. Thats like stealing a loaf of breadand saying "Well I never ate it." I think that using technology for personal gain by hacking is really kind of stupid.
I think what he did was wrong because he was going through other peoples personal things. He did not do any harm but it is still against the law. I really think that addictions are very bad casue they can come to very bad things in the end..
I think that this was an interesting thing to watch about hacking. I think that hacking is bad, its like stealing and its wrong.He was using the computers for the wrong reasons. HE got addicted to hacking and would spend alot of time on the computer, up to 12 hours. He was a really smart hacker and the goverment wanted him for their help. I don't think that it is right to hack onto other peoples business.
I think the word "hack" is a harsh word for "breaking into something." I also think that hacking is wrong and at no time should be used for things other than what the were designed for. I have never hacked onto anyting.. and I don't think I know of anyone who has. It's wrong and should not be encouraged. And I think that it's a good thing that Kevin was hired to "test" the security systems on certain sites, so that if another person were to hack onto the site, they could be stopped.
I think he liked and didn't care what he was doing, He stole and hacked major companies and he was sent to a 12 step computer program. He went to prisen 2 times. He was also known as a social enginner. When he got out of prisen the government asked him if major companies are in a security crises. He said yes. So he helped them.
All of his hacking is from computer addiction, i'm pretty addicted to the computer myself. But, i wouldn't start all the hacking, to his view it is probably intresting to hack cause he can know some things other people can't or he can look at other peoples personal stuff. Obviously his strength is where he hacks he's a computer NERD! But, i think what he does is unacceptable but then someday there could be an acceptable reason for him to hack in such. Other than that, i think we should all be aware of what other people can do these days.
