No I thought that the pirates were a thing of the past and that nobody would be pirates. I think that the goverment might have to put armed gaurds on the crew ships so that this kind of thing won't happen again.
I think piracy is the past because they went to different continents and islands to steal gold and other valuables, but now they are capturing people on ships. I think the government needs to keep on these piracy crimes because lots of people can get harmed, killed, or even raped. This is not good because it is making the worl a less safer place to live because of these criminals
I no that they are not a thing of the past. I think the governments should send battle ships with unproteced ship in the indain ocean.
I did think that pirates only existed in the past and i did't know that there was pirates in this century. I find this interesting. I do not know what the goverment should do about this.
I think that pirates did exist back then. I heard alot of stories when i was little and seen movies with pirates in them. But i would hve never thought that pirates would be back and would be real in todays society. I think the government will blow up or take charge of anyone who comes close to their ships.
I knew that there were pirates in today's world, and i don't think that they are just a thing of the past. I think that the government is going to have to learn how to deal with these pirates, so if they ever do anything this big again they will know how to be dealt with.

No,i didn't know that pirates still where around but from the three videos we seen that they are and its gettin worse and worse every day and everyone around that is trying to stop them from continuing this.
See, I wouldn't nessesarily call these people 'pirates', but perhaps hijackers or thieves. In this day and age, we don't use the term 'pirate' for any one. To me a 'pirate' means the old bearded men looking for treasure on forbiden shores. And yes, I tihnk that the government should keep on top of these issuses simply because they are stealing imported items, and killing many inisent people.

but, i do believe that pirates still exist in todays world. Never actually seen one, and hoping a never do on the sea because that would b horrible. T__T
But to keep this issue away, i don't know what the government should do.. there's not to much options but if you put your mind to it, you can get the answer. Maybe the government can pull some kind of trick one them. Perhaps, destroy there ship.

what i think the government should do is when a large cargo ship is going on sea...they should have an escort by the police.

Pirates are not a thing of the past they still exist. There will always be here and always been. Govenments need better security on ships and need a safe zone on a ship so when there invaded they go to the safe zone and take a boat outta there to be on top of the priacy issue.

I didn't even know pirates where still around and that they were taking over cargo ships. I think the ships should have some kind of alarm so they know when any unknown ship is around them. That way they have time to prepare themselves for when the pirates invade their ship
i new that there were modern day pirates and that they are like the pirates in the past but they want a ransom. i think the governments will need to have a group on board the ships that are trained to keep in control of the ship incase of a pirate attack and if they dont get a hold of this fast it will just get worse and worse.
I really wasn't aware that there are real pirates still around. These pirates aren't like the old ones when they had cannons and swords but the pirates today take over ships that hold alot of money and ask for ransom money. These people must be really intelligent to be able to take over a big tanker with only eight people.
I already knew about this kind of stuff from before. I think that we should have at least 3 armed men on each of the ship from the army, to help deal with these problems. They should also have a kind of safety hold for the crew members if they being attacked by these "pirates" so they can go init and it can only be opened by the inside once it is locked. Have rations in it also so they dont starve.
I dont think I would call these people pirates. They are the same as people who commit major crimes on land, they just have boats.

For the most part I believed pirates were a thing of the past. I knew that they still existed somewhat, but not to this extent. I think it's kind of unbelievable really because pirates seem like these fictional characters made up to tell stories from a long time ago. You don't actually think there might be people going out and taking over ships like this. These pirates are different then the storybook ones though, they aren't in search of "treasure" they want money and they'll even hold people ransom to get it. I think the government needs to fund for some sort of protection on these ships because we are risking innocent people getting hurt. Also, I don't think that unauthorized ships should be allowed on the water in a specific area and/or time. Basically, they just need to do what they can to stop this once and for all.
Pirates are not a thing of the past but they should be, why don,t the ships have any good ways of preventing these pirates other than water canons. The government should have some weapon on the boats or take over the pirate base with local authorieties.
I did not know there were pirates i thought they didn't exist. Knowing now what they do is disturbing, because its crazy how they can take over a ship, get the money and leave. Just like that. I think those unothorized ships shouldnt even be allowed on the water than none of these problems with occur. This really is shocking, i never knew this could happen.
I myself think that pirates are still real because there are ships being robbed and other pirate like behavior. I think that goverment should make a more severe penalty for piracy and make it harder for pirates to attack
I knew there where pirates. I knew that they existed a long time ago, and they still do today. I think the government should do something to stop the pirates, cause peolpe could end up getting killed sooner or later.
