To post, or not to post...that is the question? The internet has become a sharing network for pictures and personal videos. Since every user is held responsible for what they post on the internet, it would be best to check a few details before posting any document on line. Think about the following:
1. Do you own copyrights to this file?
2. Did you obtain permission from the persons appearing in the pictures or videos for posting on the Internet?
3. Are there children in the picture?
4. Are the pictures embarassing?
5. Could their content be offensive to certain people?
6. Could the content be considered offensive, hateful, discriminatory or sexual?
7. Do you want the internet community to have access to your pictures?
Have you posted pictures on Facebook or Youtube? Have you considered the above questions before posting? Can you think of other guiding questions that might help people decide if they should post or not? What do you do if a picture has been posted that puts one of these standards in question?

I do have facebook, and if i want to post all i have to do is change the security settings...you can decide who gets to see it and who doesn't...and if you think there's an inappropriate pictue all you have to do is hit the "report this picture" button.
I have posted pictures on Facebook. I haven't really thought of these questions beofore putting them on.If I posted a picture and never thought of these questions until now then I would take the pictures off of facebook but if someone else put a picture of me on there I would ask them to take it off.

6. Nope
7. I haven't posted any pics on facebook i would probably do nothing.
Whenever I post a picture or video, I always consider these questions. You tube is one of the worst websites for posting things, bwcause everyone has access to them. Facebook, is a better website because only the people you add as friends can see what you have posted. Therefore, I think everyone should consider these quesions when posting pictures or videos.
If you see that a video or picture that has anyone of those standerds you should tell somone comment on it and tell the person who posted it, flag the video if you can, and try your best to aware somone else about it.
Well.. i've never thought about those questions whenever i post pictures or videos up. When it's a video, it's not so much with me in it, but others .. yes, i do say " im gonna post this on facebook " and they would reply saying either " haha okay" Or " nooo, it's embrassing" . But i post it anyway.. just for the fun of it. yeah, so basically i do put pictures&videos on facebook. But, i understand the bad side to it, it could be anyone ... from anywhere creepying your profile and later on they're standing infront of you. There are such things that i'm afraid of that appearing. Maybe we should have our standards/Limits.
1. I don't know if I own copyrights to my photos/videos cause I don't know what copyright means
2. I don't ask the people that are in the photos if they mind because I don't think they would care.
3.No there aren't children in the pictures because children don't have the right to be in my pictures
4.No they are not embarrasing
5. No it could not because they don't have anything bad on them.
6. No they cannot be sexual or those other things because I wouldn't put them on the internet because they would be hurtful to the person.
7. I don't know because if they want to thats ok with me.
Yes i do have pictures on facebook. I don't really check those questions before I put them on the internet because they don't harm me in any way.
All these things are very familier to me. Some of these things i have done or have been done to me.I don't think some of these things are dangerous to do to keep your own privacy, I just think that you should be careful what you say or post.
yes i have posted pictures and videos on facebook. if you do put a picture up and then notice that you shouldn't have, i would just erase it and do my best to get rid of it
I think you should always have permission to put something on the internet. Even if it is just a video of you and your friends or something because they could be doing something stupid and it could eventually get to there parents or something and they could get in trouble.
I hate when people put embarrassing pictures of me on facebook or other sharing sites unless they are funny.
I really have not posted pics on facebook because i dont use it. I know there are oics out there that have used the 6 notes in them.....what i do when i see these...i leave the website. Just think about what might happen if you post a picture that has one of the 6 notes in them brfor you post!!!!!
some other questions that should be asked are:
will my friend/friends get mad at me for posting this?
when one of these standerds is in question you should not post it because then someone could get mad at you.
I think that people who post pictures without thinking about who sees them or what people could do with them find themselves in a bad situation later on. They should do everything they can to delete the picture. Not only will the picture get them in trouble but also anyone else who was in the picture.
I dont ever consider stuff like this cause I know I don't post offensive material on the web. I have posted photos on facebook (not many!) and I do make sure that its only me in the photo or I make sure that any one else in the photo is ok about it being on Facebook. If you find a picture violating any terms of conditions the site has or is violating the law, you should find the report center for that site and report the picture.
Yes I have put pictures in facebook, but none to embarress someone or to be disrespectful. But no I have not considered those questions when I have posted pictures I guess I probably should start doing that.
Yes i have put pictures on facebook and they do have children in it, but its my whole family. A picture with kids and adults. I think that people should be careful when they are putting pictures on the internet because you dont know who or what is looking at them. If you put a picture on and it follows one of the standards you should DEFINITLY take it off. Using the internet is a privellige but if everyone doesn't follow the rules than it can be token away. Just remember once you have a picture on. It doesn't come off, even if you erase it. Be safe and think safe on the internet.
I have never considerdered one of those questions before posting pictures or videos because I have never posted anything before. You should only post pictures or videos of your face or ones that are apropriate.
Yes, I have posted pictures on Facebook but not on Youtube. when I posted my pictures I kind of knew that they would be alright because it was nothing that discriminates me or offends me. Other guiding questions would be if there are other people in the picture to ask them for permission to post them, and if it wouldn't make other people mad.
To be honest I've thought about safety precautions, but the ones more so considering myself as selfish as it may sound. I know that the only pictures I have only posted pictures of myself and others on Facebook. Basically everyone concerning the pictures have their own Facebook. I think it's definitely good to be aware and think about this though, especially if there are children in the picture because that's dangerous to them and they really don't have a choice. I never have to think about posting disrespectful pictures or not because that's just not something I would do to a friend or anyone else. I think that if you posted a picture you shouldn't have then erase it and know that it really never goes away.. someone could have already taken it and posted it a million other places. Also, i know that some people make their pictures so people can't right-click them and think it's okay, but people can still use print screen to take them or get past the no right-click.
Yes i have post stuff on facebook, youtube. If its really bad i wouldn't post, cause i wqouldn't want to hurt anyone, or want anyone mad at me for something i posted on facebook, or youtube. If I post , and it is bad, i would just take it off so it isn't on there anymore.

You should ask the person before using a picture of them if this happens to you ask the person to remove it or contact the site owner.
