Day 8 Blog

To post, or not to post...that is the question? The internet has become a sharing network for pictures and personal videos. Since every user is held responsible for what they post on the internet, it would be best to check a few details before posting any document on line. Think about the following:
1. Do you own copyrights to this file?
2. Did you obtain permission from the persons appearing in the pictures or videos for posting on the Internet?
3. Are there children in the picture?
4. Are the pictures embarassing?
5. Could their content be offensive to certain people?
6. Could the content be considered offensive, hateful, discriminatory or sexual?
7. Do you want the internet community to have access to your pictures?

Have you posted pictures on Facebook or Youtube? Have you considered the above questions before posting? Can you think of other guiding questions that might help people decide if they should post or not? What do you do if a picture has been posted that puts one of these standards in question?

If it's not about me then I don't care about it at all

I have posted pictures and I don't think about the questions. No I don't think of any other guiding questions. If it put one of the standards in question I would not think of put in up in the internet.

posting is great and it could not be good too because you've got to be careful on what you post otherwise it could turn out really bad. I don't have copy right files they are my own, yes i asked permission, I only have one picture with my brother in it not harmful and he knows, he doesn't care about the photo that i have posted and I don't want pictures posted of me. I have posted one picture on me on facebook some of the questions above I have thought about and some I haven't before posting a picture. I don't know of any other questions and if someone posted and picture of me that follow these standards I would simply report it.

5.if there are embarassing piture they might get offensive.
6.nope.
7. no i would like other people looking at my pictures cuz not to many like me and they will leave hateful messages.

No I have poated pictures on Facebook or Youtube. No I nave not considered the above questions before posting. No I can not. Contact the person who put it there.

Actually i have never posted any pictures on any online site like facebook. If i did post any pictures on the internet i would ask the person if it was ok first and i would see if it is embarresing . I cant really think of any more questions. You could talk to the person and get it dealt with or if it is really insulting you can turn it in and it will get removed from the site

i think it is ok to post pictures it is your own responsibilty to make sure what u post on websites or anything when i post pictures i make sure that there pictures i want if there were pictures on somthing i would make sure there were ok with me before i sent then to someone or post it. i don't like the idea that the internet can access them that the part that gets me but overall i would probably still post things about me

3.No. just me and my friends

4.Theyre not embaarassing.

5.Theyre is no racism or anything hurtful towards anyone

6.no just an regular video

7.i don't have any pictures

I have posted pictures on facebook. I made sure they werent offensive or inapropriate in any way. A good guiding question would be do you want this to be seen by evryone?. If a picture of you is posted you could ask the poster to remove it or request the website to remove the photo.

i have posted pictures on facebook.no i have not considerded an of the questions above before. if you think that you don't somepeople to see your post then don;t post the picture. i would ask the person if they have considerde other people feelings and if they could take them down

Thinking about all those questions before posting is a good idea. i've seen friends post pictures of other people, i don't do that very often. It's up to the person whether to post or not if its a pic of themself, but if its not then they should make sure its ok with the their friend or whoever.

-I have posted pictures of myself and friends online but usually i always ask permission from them first.

I didn't post any pictures on facebook yet, but my friends have and all the pictures are okay. Well like i said i haven't really put any pictures of myself on the internet, but if i did i would think about the questions. I think question number four is one you'll really have to think about, because it might also be embarassing for others. I would probably tell the person, if I know them, to take it off, and if i didn't I guess i would report them or tell someone.

When people post pictures or videos they dont really realize the negatives of it.I dont usually take pictures of my self i usually just go on google and get pictures that i like. I dont usually think of asking people if i can post pictures with them in it, i usually just do it and see how they like it. I never take pictures of children in the photo. There are many time when the pictures are embarassing but the people in the picture dont really care they take it as a funny. There content could be offensive to many people depends on how people feel bout things, and there is a slight possibility about the content being hateful, discriminatorym, offensive, or sexual.

i have posted pictures on facebook but none were bad and i didnt think about any of those questions.

I've always taken those things into consideration. I've usually asked friends and other people if it would be alright to post those pictures. The only time I haven't is when I knew the person wouldn't care. Yes I have posted data on both facebook and youtube. I also think they should think about what the picture says. If the picture says "I'm a crazy partying alcoholic" I really don't think you'll want to post those images for fear of your parents or grandparents see it. It might give you a bad image.

Yes I have posted pictures on Facebook but not on Youtube. I have never thought of the questions above because the pictures I put up would not be harming anyone. The questions here are ones that people should think about before putting pictures or videos up. If there was a person who put a picture on and you knew them you could ask them to take it off or on Facebook you can untag yourself from the picture.

I have posted pictures on facebook but they arent harmful to anyone and i ask permission of the people in the pictures first. I've never really considered these questions before. If a picture has been posted that puts one of these standards in question i would probably talk to my friend about it.

I have posted pictures on Facebook, but they arent embarrasing pictures, or anything that I should worry about. Most of the pictures are just of me, not of anybody else. To decide if they are embarrasing pictures, maybe somebody could ask a person and see what they think about it.

I have never posted pictures or videos of myslef or my friends on Facebook or Youtube. I don't post the pictures but I think when a person is posting pictures or videos they should think of some of those question and the consequences that they can have. If a picture or video has been posted that you would like to try and get removed, you can ask the person that posted it to take it off or you can report it to someone and see if they can do something about it.

I don't post pictures or videos now, nor have I in the past. If someone is just going to take pictures for no erason and one turns out terrible then there may be a chance in black mail. Quite frankly I really don't have any problems with it and I have known others to have problems but there is nothing I can do about it.

Well I myself have a facebook and I do post pictures one it. The questions I have to say a magority of them run through my mind. I only post the pictures that I have taken of my facebook and they are only seen by my friends so I keep outsiders out of my business. They are my friends and some of the pictures are embarassing like greesy hair or a goofy face but not extreme like nudity. So yes some of the pictures are a little embassing but it makes a good laugh. Well I think you have covered most of the gray areas well so I cannot come up with anymore questions. I usually talk to my friend and/or report the photo and it is gone taken from the file.

yes i have posted pictures on facebook obviously not meaning to embarass someone else. i have never actually thought about asking someone about posting their picture because my friends dont care, and if they put their own pictures on there of themselves it shouldnt be the end of the world if someone puts pictures of them on there to. i dunno,i dont think i would do anything, i guess i just wouldnt look at it, because if its not a picture of me, i dont care.

I have posted pictures on facebook and youtube and posted videos. I dont ask for permission unless i think they would mind.

I have posted pictures on Facebook before, and when I am posting them I do think about those questions, because if it was my embarressing picture I wouldn't want it out in public. I have had some of my friends post a picture that is a little embarressing, but I just untag myself so then it doesn't draw attention to it. If one of my friends were to post a very embarressing picture then I would probably ask them to remove it, but luckily that hasn't happened yet.

I have pictures on facebook and i dont mind pictures of me on facebook because they are not bad pictures. sometimes i consider the question of posting. some giuding questions that nmight help is to ask a friend. we could ask the question why did they put that up on facebook or youtube.

Anonymous said...

yeah i have poasted a few pictures on facebook and i didnt consider anything because they will all of me pretty much anyway. i think its just common sense if you think the pictures are bad dont poast them. if a bad picture of you does get poasted just ask the person to delete it or report the picture to in internet company.

Yes, I have posted pictures on facebook. No, I haven't considered the questions ask, but if the people in the pictures with me don't want it up there, I take it down, or change the privacy views on it. If a picture was posted with offenisve material, hateful, discriminatory or sexual content, I will report the picture, but if I know the person, I will ask them to take the picture down or something.

I have posted a few pictures on facebook. They arn't harmfull to anyone in anyway. When I want to take a picture ot somethin I ask my friend for permission to see if they way it to go on facebook. If they don't want it on there it won't go on the website, and if they do want it to go on facebook it will be good and not offensive to anyone.

I have put pictures on the web and when i put pictures or anything on the web i took in mind some of these things but some i have never thought of. One more thing to keep in mind if you know the person is that you would know if it is something they would put on the web.If this happens you can report it or if you know the person you can get them to take it of

I don't post pictures on the internet yet but when I do I would only put pictures that are suitable to go on. Some of the pictures that are posted are unsiutable to go on the internet and they should think about the questions before they do that. The pictures that are unsuitable can hurt people in away even if you don't think that it does.

I dont usually post any pictures of me on facebook or youtube. I have never asked anyone to post pictures onto facebook unless they would really get mad.

I think posting pictures on the internet is great because you don't get to see your friends, family and relatives everyday so you post on the internet. I have never posted a picture on the internet because I don't to. If I did post pctures on the internet I would ask my parents for permission before I post it on the internet, just to make sure that the picture doesn't harm anyone's feelings.

I don't post pictures because i don't know how and if i did know how to post pictures i wouldn't.
Iwouln't post pictures of me or any one else because i see them every day and i don't even own a computer. And if the pictures were offensive, hateful, discriminatory or sexuel i wouldn't post them at all.

Yes i have posted pictures on facebook but not youtube, i never thought of any of the above questions just everyone does it so i dont really see whats so bad about it.
