2. It's true. That's like asking if a kid has a football is he more likely to use it.

3. I doubt they spend more time with their parents or being physically active. They may pursue other hobbies though. The use of media covers photography. That's a hobby.

4.Yes. How many people these days still use record players?(besides Rebecca)

5. I think maybe a good strong 68 percent do.

6. False. Completely false. Just because someone gets bad grades that doesn't imply they spend more time playing video games. I play TONS of video games and I get fine grades. I doubt video games have an effect on grades. Some games may even better a student's academic ability.

i spend maby about 3 or 4 hours a day using media. Children with easy access to media do spend more time using them. I think that young people that spend most of the time using media dont report most of those things. new media does displace the use of old media. I think that the percent of young people who have media in their room is 83%. i think that this statement is kinda true.internet

Anonymous said...

1. I spend about 6 hours each day with media.

1. I spend an average of about 4-5 hours a day with media on weekdays and about 6-7 hours on the weekend each day.
2. I think that answer is true because children who have easier access to media will be more likely to have more contact with media and spend less time doing other stuff.
3. They also spend more time with all of the above because young people also like to be active and not just hanging around.
4. I agree with this because as the next newest things come out people feel that they have to be with the "times" and get the newest thing. Also as time goes on the producers of these older products stop making these products. For example, production factories don't make cassettes or records anymore because people don't use them anymore so what would be the point in making them if no one is going to use them.
5. I think that it would be 68%.
6. I think that this statement is true because if children would be more into reading with their peers instead of playing video games they would be more likely to get higher grades.
7. I feel that the dominant medium for young people today would have to be either tv, music or the internet because music is a great way to pass the time and when most people come home from doing an activity, the first thing they do would either be going on the computer or sitting down on the couch to watch television.

Anonymous said...

5. 83%
6.there are people who are like addicted to video games still have good marks.. but i guess their are others who spend alot of time on playing video games and they fail their class.. i guess there is no true or false answer.. well to me anyway.
7. their are alot of people who play video games and watch the t.v but then their is like the other half of young people who like their music and having access to a computer. so i cant even answer that.

3.Young people who spend time with media tend to not communicate with family as much are a little less active, and might slowly loose intrest in their current hobbies.
4.New media always comes and replaces the old media technology in cars. TV's game systems computers are some examples.
5.Prolbably 83% of youth have access to TV, video games or computers.
6.Youth that have poor grades spend more time with tv, videogames or computers. Because they might find it lots more fun or less boring.
7.The medium for young people is internet and videogames. People are always online checking lots of stuff on the internet and millions of people play one game and there is 100's of games in the world and now video games have the access to the internet information.

I spend about the full 7 hours a day with media.True they always are on longer. I think that they would be less interactive with others.True the media gets more and more removeing the old and replaceing it with new things.I think there is a lot of people have access to media that is why i think it is about 68% are useing there electronic devices in there room.False because they might not really have access to media or don't like to use media. It can also be just because they don't excell it the classes they are takeing. The most common would be televison now because we now have televisons not only in your room but also out side as billboards with the media.

Anonymous said...

1.On average I probably spend about 4.5 hours with media.
2.A child with access to media probably uses it more, because most people that have access to it would make use of it.

5.The percentage of youth that have media in their room is probably about 68%.
6.Those who are less content or get poor grades don't necessarily use more video games, because there are plenty of other reasons for people to be unhappy or have low grades.

In the winter i spend 4 hours on media but in spring fall and summer i spend like 1 hour with media. This is true because if children get to media easily they become addicted. People who spend more time with media do not spend more time with their parents they will spend less because they have become addicted so they dont care about their parents. True newer media is always better. 37% of the youth have tv, video games and computers in their rooms. True because if your playing video games you can't concentrate on your school work. This is also true because now that they've made this facny tech stuff no one cares about school anymore.

True, cause if you don't have much access to media its impossible to use it lots.

52%
False. some people probably still read and other things, video games is just somthing to do to pass the time.
Internet because you can play games on it, listen to music, and lots more.

I think i spend bout 4.5 hours with media. Yeah i think children who have access to the media play will play more with them. I dont know what people report spending more time with but i spend more time with being active. Yes new media takes over old media no doubt about that as soon as a new video game or game system comes out people will stand in line waiting for hours to get their hands on it. I think about 70% of people have some sort of something that has to do with media in their rooms. I think so because a book isnt flashy and you cant do whatever you want its just a book and some people jus wont read a book but rather instead play video games or go on the computer. Im not sure what other people like more but i think its music because its easy to get to and you can put it on your ipod or mp3 and listen to it where ever.

1. I would say about 4.5 hours a day.
2. True
3. I would say pursuing other hobbies.
4. True. Now a days people just watch DVDs but some others still own a VCR and other things. The percentage of DVD playes owned, I would say, would be around 90%.
5. I would say about 52 percent.
6. True.
7. I would say all of them would be equal but if I had to pick, I would say TV.

1.The average time i spend with the media is about 3-4 hours a day.2.This is true because i am a kid and i can watch tv when ever i want to
3.with their parents.
4.This is true because people would get bored of the media over a period of time.
5.69%
6.This is also true because if you are playing video games or watching tv you cant be reading as much as if you were to pick a book up and read it
7.The interent is the most dominant i think, you can bascially find out any information, you can listen to music and play games.

Anonymous said...

1.I think i spend about 3 hours a day with media.

2. I think it is false just because they have access to it doesn't mean they aren't involved with other things.

3.All of the above because they will use lots of things to maybey deny spending lots of time with media.

4. I think it is false because there are still news papers, but it is also true in a way because they use different ways of producing media.

5. I think about 83% of youth would have tv, games, or computers in their rooms.

6.False because there are people who actully try their hardest and still produce poor grades.

7. I think the dominent medium would be the internet.

1. The average i spend a day is about 4-5 hours, Music takes up most of my time, i watch tv sometimes and rarely play video games.
2.I think thats true because they have easy access so they can go on anytime of the day, whereas, people without media find it harder to get to it, thus they dont become relied on it as much as other people do if they have it.
3. People might spend more time with friends, or if they are watching movies with their parents, But i dont think they are getting more active. People with music might because they will dance or move to the music.
4. I think that is true because DVDs are lighter and smaller than video cassettes. MP3s and iPods are lighter, smaller and can carry more music than CDs and Walkmen.
5. Im guessing about 68% of people have TV, video games or computers in their rooms because they are becoming more common in the lives of everyday people.
6. True, because they think if they fail now it wont make a difference if they study or not. so they play video games instead.
7. The dominant medium for young people today is music.

Anonymous said...

1.To be honest on how long i spend on the media it is probably around six and a half to seven hours even though it does'nt seem like it.

2.I think that would be true because they can get away with it and like the media cause it could have all of their favourite shows on Television

3. Probably with their parents because they sit at home all day where theyre parents are. at home on the television or on the computer.

4.True because new is certainly better than the old stuff and they do not sell the old stuff much anymore.

5. Around 2/5 people im guessing

6.False. Because you can't say that about every kid some kids may do it once their done their homework but some might just rush it and get poor marks and then go right to the video game.

7.Most likely i would think isd the internet because they can do all theyre favourite media activities on it likr play video games off of a website or watch movies and play music off of something like youtube.

1)I would say I spend an average 3 hours with the media a day. If this includes magazines, television, and surfing the web.
2)I believe that this is true because they children have more of an access to it. For it is easy entertainment so that we spend less time outside and doing physical excercise.
3)Yes they end up becomming anti-social because they spend most of their time alone. They develope poor social skills and are also lacking cooperation skills. They have a hard time working in work enviorment that required contact with other persons.
4)True becuase old media used to be the newspaper to what was happening in the world. Then it became on the television but to replace that now you can get the news/weather and many other things on your cell phone. So you can see how it has changed over the years.
5)Bedrooms well I don't have any media in my room other than a magazine and/or an odd newspaper. I would say about at least 52% if not more. It does get a little to much and some people are taking the media and tachnology a little to far.
6)Well that may be true but I am not so sure about that. I think it depends to how they were raise. Video games should not be to blame becuase if it wasn't that then it would be something else like sports or staying out. This has been going on for years but, video games have not been around for all that long. They do not help the matter that is for sure.
7)I would say Music and the Computer would be the most dominant.
