I think that its kinda the same except when you drink and drive you just arent functioning properly while when your texting and driving your just not paying attention. I think that people should get a fine for this because it could cause death or serious injurys to some people, and can be very hazordous.
I don't think it is as seriouse as drinking and driving, but it does cause accidents and should not be allowed while driving. The consequence for texting and driving should be a simmilar ticket to wearing no seatbelt.
Yes there are simularities between drinking and driving and texting and driving. You are not aware ofwhat is going on and your mind is somewheres else. I think there should be a consequence for driving and texting because the more people do it the better they think they are getting at it so they do it more. There should be a fine for texting and driving.
What I think about Texting and Driving at the same time is stupid because You can kill people like that and who knows t may be someone that a family cares about more than anything. What i think is that there should be a huge fine for that because a seatbelt isnt big big of a fine because its only going to harm yourself which is your fault but when you almost kill someone in a crash and you were texting i think there should maybe be a sentence to jail and a fine
I think that texting and driving can be very dangerous. I think that it should be illegal to text and drive and that cops should pull someone over for doing that. That girl in the power point wasnt looking at the road and paying attention cause she was texting and nearly killed her child. Texting and driving can be similer to drinking and driving cause both of them you cant see the road and arnt cautious about the things around them, so it is very dangerous.
I think that texting and drinking are similar because your attention is turned to the phone or to the alchohol and not on the road. either way you could severely hurt someone and all because you were texting or drunk. I think that there should be a law that says that you can't text and you should get at least a fine.
I thoink that texting and driving are very simmilar the both cause people to not cansentrate ass much on the road as they should when they are driving.I think if you get catched texting and driving you should be finded just about the same amount that you would if you were drinking and driving.
I think that texting and driving is sort of like drinking and driving because both things distract you. When you drink and then drive you can't see anything so you can't really avoid any accidents if it comes down to it but it's very easy to just not text while your driving or get someone else to for you because obviously if your looking down at your phone, you can't see anything thats happening so things like accidents could happen real quickly. I don't really think there should be a consequence for someone who texts and drives because thats not really bad. Its not against the law, they should just get a warning or something and then if they do it more than once or twice they should get a fine.
That was Very stupid what she did, its obviously bad to text while driving because you cant pay attention to both at the same time. It may have been different if she had one of those hands-free headphones to talk on instead of texting. When you drink and drive at least you are aware of the road, even though its fussy and dizzy. I think the consequences of texting and driving should be a fine, the same amount as when you dont wear your seatbelt or you dont have your headlights on.
when you are driving it does not matter what you are doing you should always keep an eye on the road there should also be some kind of little fine for texting and driving.
The hazards are similar to what could happen while drinking and driving you could swirv into another lane, you could go through a red light, you can do lots of things and not know it when your texting and driving or drinking and driving, although i believe that texting and driving are similar, the charges should be less than drinking and driving because there is most likely more drinking and driving out there than texting and driving so at the most if you are caught texting and driving the maximum should be a one-hundred dollar fine.
I think texting while driving is very similar to drinking and driving. They both can cause severe car accidents all from not paying attention to the road and focussing on something else. texting while driving can be just as dangerous if not more than drinking and driving. There should be atleast a 200 dollar fine, if u cause an accident from texting and not paying attention then you should be punished. You could seriously hurt or even kill someone.
Itz similar to drinking and driving because there is a way higher chance that you will get into and accedent because you are not focussed on the road. It is different because with texting you have te abbillity to react fast. when your drunk you just go with the flow. The consequences should be a fifty dollar fine.
It is horrible what happened to the kid just because a girl was dumb enough to put her attention to a text instead of the rode like is texting more important to her than the rode it is her fault the kid ended up like that if i was a cop i would take her license away for a stupid action that could of been avoided she should not be allowed to drive if she is going to pay more attention to her texting instead of the road like come on seriously bad choice
The main difference between texting and driving is alcohol effects your reaction time and causes even more accidents. they are similiar in one way, they're both choices. Someone who gets distracted easily shouldn't text and drive because they loose focus without even realizing it. The first offense should be a ticket, then the license should be taken away for a few months.
I think they're the same because when you drink, some people say they cannot see very far or they have blurry vision, your abilities to see and function properly are limited. When texting your eyes are completely off the road, which means you can only see your cell phone, and something can occur. Both can cause death or injury to the driver and others, I think there should be a penalty of taking the phone away for good and if it is worse, then go to jail for a certain amount of time.
I think the consequences for texting and driving and drinking and driving should be the same. In both cases your not paying attention to the road so I think the same thing should happen if caught texting and driving.
I dont think that you should get a punishment if you are just caught texting but forsure I think that if you are texting and got into an accident or hurt someone then you forsure should get a fine.
Well I think that it should stay the same as if you are drinking and driving. I do not think that it is safe to text and drive becuase you are taking your eyes off the road and that alone is a danger. So I agree that the punishment should be the same as drinking and driving becuase it is an imparment. The possiblilty that the accidencts can be fatal are high. So I think that they need to stay with the imparment punishment.
I think that texting and driving are simular to drinking and driving. I believe that it is a bad thing to text and drive at the same time. I don believe that there should be consequences for them like them haveing to pay a fine or even going to jail.
I think that there is some similarities to texting and driving because they both do pretty much the same thing, and that is take your focus off of the main task of driving your vehicle safely and getting to the places you would like to go without getting in accidents.
Well when you're drinking and driving, at least you're watching the road. When you're texting and driving, you aren't watching at all. I think a reasonable sentance should be to... have your hands cut off. I know it sounds a little too ancient china but oh well. Or if someone becomes braindead in a crash from texting and driving, the same should happen to the person at fault.
I think that there is no diffencne between Texting and driving and drinking and driving. Because your not looking at the road and not thinking about the road. If you are caought Texting and driving the consequences should be go to jail no matter the age.
I would say that the consequences could be like getting your lisense revoked for a week or so, that way you wouldn't really want to do it again because every one needs a way to transport thenselves about. I would say the similar things about texting and drinking while driving would be that you aren't fully aware of what's going on around you, therefore accidents will happen.
I think texting and driving is different from drinking and driving because it is different from each other. People actually have vision when you text and if your intoxicated you cant really see.I think the consequences shouldnt be anything close to drinking and driving.
Texting and driving is very unsafe, it is like drinking and driving because you aren't paying attention and you probably won't see the danger ahead. People caught texting and driving should get a ticket and if they are caught too many times they should get a jail sentence.
i dont think there different because when your drinking you are unfocused and out of it. when your texting and drvng you are focued on your phone and not driving. There should only be a conseqence if some one is injured or an accident occurs.
texting and driving and drinking and driving are similar because in both situations you don't see or expect the accident. Texting and driving causes accidents just out of someones stupidity not to look and pay attention to the road. Drinking and driving causes accidents because your reaction time is slowed. I think that people that are caught texting and driving should get a fine and if they actually hurt someone it should be something greater than that, depending on the accident
texting and driving isnt the same as drinking and driving because texting is a distraction being impared screws your vision and reflexes up even if you are paying attention. although there should be a consequence for texting and driving.
I think that texting and drinking and driving are not to different because if texting you aren't looking at the road so you wouldn't have a good reaction time and with drinking and driving your reaction time is the same so i would say that texting and drinking are close to be the same.I think that the consequences should be a sort of the same with drinking.
I think that when people text they are texting too much. When they do text they get into accidents like the Griffin family which nearly killed the boy. I also think that people should get off the phone for at an least hour without texting. Drinking and driving is technically the same as texting and driving because more people are getting into accidents by texting.
I think that some similarities are that your eyes will be off the road, because when your drinking and drivers you you get very tired and you could fall asleep. Just like your eyes being off the road looking at your phone texting. some differences are that your eyes will off the road for a difference amount of time. I think that there shouldnt be any consequences because a police officer is not going to pull you over for just using a cell phone. The driver should just know that it is not safe to text while driving. If the cops going to pull you over for a ticket, it wont be a big ticket. If the driver didnt want to get a ticket for a crazy reason the driver shoulndt have it out in the first place.
