Day 6 Blog

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter found in the brain that is needed for normal functioning of the central nervous system. Speed is a drug that can be prescribed or can be found as a street drug, otherwise known as crystal meth. Its causes arousal in the brain and central nervous system. "Playing video games doubles the amount of dopamine in the brain which is equivalent to a dose of speed". What do you think about that quote? Believe it or not?

Now i believe it. It's no good playing video games I see.Wow thats is a scary fact to.Thats why parents dont let kids play video games much.It affects the brain no toi think when you take the drug but it is probaly the same thing when you play video games to.

i think the quote is interesting. I belive this quote because, it is telling us what "video games" or "speed" can do to our brain.

I think this quote is a total lie. In my opinion you can not get high of dopamine by playing video games as you can if you were to use speed. So i do not believe that this is true. If it was true then it would have the same amount of side affects as speed does.

That is really, really odd. i think id just stick to my video games.

I do not believe this quote. Crystal meth is very deadly and not good for your system. Most video games (depending on the type) are not bad for your system or your health.

BohnC said...

I don't believe this because and video game doesn't make you high like crystal meth. And if it was true why wouldn't you go play a video game instead of getting high from crystal meth.

I think this quote is hard to believe but, yes i do believe it. When you play video games and you are winning you never want to stop just like when you are taking crystal meth, once you start taking it you don't want to stop!

I think this quote is false because Crystal Meth has some definite side-affects; video games, not so much. So I believe this quote is false.

I do not believe that quote. When you take speed your body and mind is taken over and you go into a big high. You do not get high when playing a video game. Although video games can arouse the brain it doesn’t do it in the same manner as a drug. Some video games can arouse the brain more than others depending on what you do within the game.

I don't really think this is true because when you take meth, you start seeing things, and when i play video games a don't see flying dragons or stuff like that. It may be true in the sense that doubles you reaction time when you are in the heat of the game but I don't think it's the same as taking speed.

i think that this qote makes ne scence and I do not Beleave it because how can playing vido games and doing hard drugs like that be releasing dopamine.

Amy S. said...

I think that quote could be true because playing video games really gets your brain to work. I don't think it could be the exact thing as using cristal meth.

I don't know if I believe it. I guess it could be true. People always say that videogames are bad for you. On the other hand if it was really bad for you why would they keep creating new game systems and games? I think when they say playing video games is like taking crysal meth they mean that it effects the brain the same way but meth is alot more hazardous to your health.

Bowmanm said...

I think that it isn't possible for the brain to double the amount of dopamine while playing a video game. But when you are playing a video game you don't feel the effects of crystal meth. Crystal meth probably gives you a high feeling that you dont get from video games.

Dallas said...

I don't think that playing video games is equivalent to a dose of crystal meth because, your not putting anything into your body. I don't believe that quote.

Tanner L said...

I dont really believe that this quote is true but if it is a fact then i guess it must be true but I don't really understand how this could happen.

darienk said...

I don't think that playing video games is equal to a dose of crystal meth because i play video games all the time and there seems to be nothing wrong with me, and wouldn't crystal meth screw up your head and make you stupid because i don't think i'm stupid or any one else whoo plays.

Tanner P said...

This is hard to believe but video games doesn't have all the same effects long and short term. Speed you would think would give your brain more dopamine than playing video games. I dont think this is very accuate because when you play video games you dont get the same effects as doing drugs. There is more worse effects of drugs than playing video games.

Casey said...

I think that it really doesnt make sense that playing video games is equivalent to a dose of speed. I do not believe that it is true.

Landon said...

i dont think playing games is like doing crystal meth i do think it is good to play game all the time and i think they it makes you think you can do the stuff that is on the video games in really like so it kinda seems like you brain is high for a little bit.

Dalton said...

Some video games either make you think or you have be aware of your surroundings in the game, but on the other hand some video games are just mind crunching. Im 50-50 with beleiving or not.

Jesse G said...

Yes i beleive it. I think this blog os crazy.

koltk said...

i think that is wrong because i know a lot of people who play video games all day and they are not druggies

Jake G. said...

If this fact was true I could be hitting up speed all day but since i'm sure it would have triple the effect of videogames i can't go around the regional looking for speed and doing it at lunch.

This statement sounds alot like when were playing video games, our brains turn to mush. Instead if mush its a dose of crystal meth. Dont let the parents discover this!I dont think this is an exact statement because it doesnt tell us how long we can play or anything that tops of the knowledge. In my opinion, I dont belive this entirely.

Glenn said...

It might be true or it might not be. I know that when I play video games, after i'm done playing, I don't feel any different. It also might be true because other people may not feel like themselves after playing them and that may be because of the dpamine.

Freedom E said...

I don't believe this quote because you can think straight when you play video games. This quote is like saying video games can get you high. They can't.

Ryley P said...

To me this statement is truly not real because that would mean that basically all of Canadian children have at least had a dose of speed ( crystal meth ). The proof would basically be when you are having actuall crystal meth it changes your appearence and health and others but when you play video games it doesnt do any of that unless you are playing forever and then it does effect your health. So i definitely don't agree with this statement.

LoganD said...

i think the quote was somewhat interesting and i do beleive that SPEED might cause arousal in the brain but i dont beleive playing video games will double the amount of dopamine in the brainwhich is equivalent to a dose of SPEED.

Kennedy E said...

I don't beleive this quote because we can still think straight when we are playing video games. It may not be good for us, but it is not equivalent to a dose of speed. Playing video games can't kill you, but can make you lazy.

Janeen D said...

I dont believe it because crystal meth kills alot of brain cells and can kill you. Where playing vidio games cant kill you, and it doesnt kill brain cells. I think the quote is a myth and is so not true. When you play vidio games you can think straight and your not all loopy and high, as to crystal meth you cant think straight and you are loopy and high.

Tynneal said...

I think that its not true because video games arent as harmful as taking drugs and cant affect you the same way a drug could.

RebeccaC said...

I think that this quote could be true because if you play to much video games your brain will tend to focus on only the vidoe games you are playing and nothing else other then the video games. I believe this quote is true because if you to end up playing way to much video games your brain can get messed up.

Allyssa A. said...

I do believe this quote in some ways but don't believe it in other ways. I think that this quote is true because when people are playing videogames they get excited but it depends on the game. I also think its untrue because a drug is much stronger then natural brain cells.

marcus said...

I do not believe this quote because people who play video games they dont look like they just got high or that they did speed.

sherwoodt said...

you can belive it or you dont half to. what do i think about the quote?(belive it or not?) yes i think meth is not good for your brain. it cant make you dosome dumb things.

GavinT said...

I heard this before and I think that it is true, but is having more than a normal amount of dopamine in your brain dangerous

Miranda L said...

I don't believe the quote, because although video games probably causes the amount of dopamine to rise, I don't think that it would be the equivalent amount to a dose of speed. Crystal meth also makes you hullucinate, which video games do not.
